Avalon Historical Society

Photo-Gallery--element133Originally the Avalon Museum & Historical Society, the Avalon History Center opened to the public in 2001 after the Avalon Historical Society moved and restored the building and amassed a collection of historic artifacts.

Today, although the Avalon History Center is part of the Avalon Free Public Library, it is supported by the Avalon Historical Society, which funds programs and collections projects such as the June 2015 purchase of a 1925 Avalon life boat.

The Avalon Historical Society holds popular annual events such as a Historic House Tour, Clamshell Pitching Competition, and Holiday Party.

Joining as a member of the Avalon Historical Society supports the History Center's programs, collections, and projects.
