In 1994 Congress passed a bill to dedicate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a national day of service. The King Holiday and Service Act was introduced by Congressman John Lewis and Senator Harris Wofford, both of whom had worked alongside Dr. King in civil rights activism. 
Stop by to pick up information about donating time to a local organization. We will also be collecting item donations for Holy Redeemer Food Bank and Cape May County Animal Shelter. 
Suggested dontaions for Holy Redeemer: unopened and non-expired, non-perishable food items, and toiletries. 
For the CMC Animal Shelter: pet food and supplies, large milk bones, peanut butter, dog chews and treats, blankets, sheets, pet beds, towels & washcloths, dog & cat toys, baby food (jar meat), cat treats, canned cat food, dry cat food, scratching posts, and clay cat litter.
