at the Avalon Elementary School, 235 32nd St. July 16 – “Opera Gala” Jed Gaylin presents “Opera Gala” featuring two opera singers, soprano Lori Hultgren and tenor Alok Kumar. The duo will perform popular selections from “La Boheme,” “Tosca,” “Madame Butterfly,” “Rigoletto,” “La Forza del Destino,” and more. Aug. 13 – “Oceans and Mountains” Featuring a musical piano tour starting with Mozart Overture to Idomeneo. This unique concert will also feature 13-year-old prodigy Gavin George performing “Mozart Piano Concert No. 5.” George has been performing for 10 years, and has played with a number of national and international orchestras, as well as hosting a concerto and solo recital in Italy at the Perugia Music Festival. Following George, the concert will conclude with Beethoven Symphony No. 7. Tickets for each performance are free of charge, and available to the general public at the library two weeks prior to each performance. Seating for the concerts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
