Ruotao Mao

Ruotao Mao - Violin

Violinist Ruotao Mao, a native of Beijing, China, graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music with “distinction in performance” award. He earned his Masters Degree in Music from the Mason Gross School of the Arts where he studied under violinist Arnold Sternhardt of the Guarneri String Quartet. He also studied with Dorothy Delay, Paul Kantor and Masuko Ushioda. As a chamber musician, he is one of the founding members of the former Beijing Piano Quartet. Winner of “Artists International Chamber Music Series”, Ruotao has made appearances in Weill Hall of Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center and with the highly acclaimed Amabile String Quartet, the quartet-in-residence at Rutgers University (2000 and 2001). As a soloist, he appeared with orchestras such as the Jupiter Symphony, NEC Symphony, Corelliard Chamber Orchestra,   the Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, Riverside Symphonia, Edison Symphony,  the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Rutgers University Orchestra and Bay-Atlantic Symphony. In 2004,  Mr. Mao premiered a violin concerto by Ernie Stires in Stern Auditorium of Carnegie Hall. He has had performance tours in Korea and Colombia, South America. Mr. Mao performed on WNYC, WETS and WDVR-FM broadcasts and is a recording artist for the CRI and Beijing Broadcast Labels. Mr. Mao also serves as the concertmaster of the Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, Riverside Symphonia, the Bay-Atlantic Symphony and Edison Symphony Orchestra. In 2002, Mr. Mao was appointed as violin and viola faculty at The College of  New Jersey.

 


 

 
         

Jie Jin - Cellist


Jie Jin

Jie Jin (Jie pronounced as Gia) is an internationally renowned cellist who has been widely recognized by the public, critics and colleagues. Her performance has been heard throughout major music capitals in North America, Europe and Asia. Ms. Jin has performed with Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony and New World Symphony. She has held principal cello positions with National Repertoire Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music and Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. Ms. Jin has been invited to Colorado Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, Ravinia Festival, Pacific Music Festival, International Summer Academic Prague-Vienna-Budapest Festival, Beijing International Music Festival, Margess International Festival, Daniel Music Festival and Amadeus Masterclass. Before her move to the United States, she had won the First Prize in the National Cello Duo Competition of China, the Bao-gang Elegance Art Award and the Excellent Performance Prize in the National Competition of China. Being an active chamber musician, Ms. Jin is the founder of the Tang-gu-la String Quartet. From 1994, the quartet toured England, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Australia and China. The Tang-gu-la String Quartet received numerous honors and won the Second Prize in the First National String Quartet Competition. Shortly after, the quartet appeared in Isaac Stern's Oscar-winning documentary "From Mao to Mozart", performed for President Bill Clinton. Ms. Jin began her cello study at age 5. She received her Bachelor's degree in cello performance from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Upon receiving a full scholarship from Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, she came to the United States and studied with Prof. Norman Fischer for her Masters degree. Ms. Jin also received the Artist Diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Mr. Desmond Hoebig. Currently , she is the principal cellist of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and a section member of Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Symphony in C and Riverside Symphonia. She also plays with Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra and Ama Deus Ensemble. As a teacher, Ms. Jin is a faculty member at Nelly Berman School of Music and the Academy of Community music.

 

Ana Tsinadze - Viola


Ana Tsinadze

Ana Tsinadze was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia and began her music studies on the violin at the age of six. After completing an intense 7 year program at the State Music School, Ana was admitted to the Zakharia Paliashvili Special Music School for exceptionally gifted children. She continued her studies with renowned Soviet musicians and pedagogues including professors Alexander Begalishvili and Boris Chiaureli. Prior to graduating from the school with a gold medal in 1987, Ana won the Tbilisi Solo Instrumental Competition. After entering the Tbilisi State Conservatory, Miss Tsinadze had continued her viola studies with the celebrated Soviet Georgian pedagogue, professor Shota Shanidze. During the conservatory years (1987-1993) Ana won another competition and performed with the State Symphony Orchestra. In 1989, Miss Tsinadze was honored with the assistant principal positions with the State Symphony Orchestra and the Tbilisi Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, both of which have toured extensively throughout the world. In 1994, Ana received a full teaching position at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. Due to the extremely difficult economic situation in the Republic of Georgia, Ana left her native country a year later for the United States to join the Rowan Honors String Quartet at Rowan University in New Jersey. Her American education includes a Masters of Music degree from Louisiana State University, where she studied with Dr. Jerzy Kosmala. Currently, Ana is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Temple University and is the Principal Violist for the Bay-Atlantic Symphony.

 

Nancy Jan - Violin


Nancy Jan is currently the associate concertmaster of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony.  She has received both the Bachelor and the Masters Degree in Music Performance from the Juilliard School. Ms. Jan has concertized as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and overseas.  She has been a member of the Delaware Symphony, the Harrisburg Symphony, the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the Reading Symphony.  Ms. Jan is also actively involved with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Center City Opera, the Philly Pops and Vox Amadeus.  She currently resides in Berlin, NJ.
