Warming up exercises will be followed by exploration of composition, form spatial relationships, and shading techniques in various black and white media with still life reference and demonstrations by the instructor.

Bring along the basic supplies of sketchbook, pencils, eraser and nutritious lunch. Various other materials will be provided.

Cheryl Cruz has received regional recognition for her work in various media, creating public murals, set designs, portrait commissions, and landscape painting. She credits basic drawing skills as her grounding force, and as a committed teacher is happy to share what she has learned during her long career as a dedicated artist.

Cheryle is on the arts faculty of the Atlantic Cape Community College and a lead teacher for the Center of Community Arts. Her illustrated page "Sketches of Down Jersey" appears regularly in DownJersey Magazine
